What’s the Worst Song Ever? Now Sing It
A live music showdown of the best attempts at the very worst songs is coming back to the Barre Opera House in November.
Date: Saturday, November 22, 2025
Time: 7:00 PM
Tickets: $10
Calling all music lovers—and haters. WORST. SONG. EVER. is Barre’s just-for-fun live music competition where the challenge is simple: take a song that makes people groan, and play it like you mean it.
This event is open to adults of any musical ability. Whether you’re a seasoned player, a casual strummer, or just someone who can carry a tune, you’re welcome on stage. The rules? Pick a well-known song from any era that was written earnestly (sorry—no parodies, comedy numbers, or originals). Then rehearse it in your own style and get ready to convince the crowd that it really does deserve the title of “worst song ever.”
But here’s the twist: the goal isn’t to play badly. The fun lies in playing a bad song well—or weirdly, or even with unexpected brilliance. You might win over the audience if you imitate the original artist, transform the tune into something surprisingly good, or lean into your dislike and sing it like you mean it.
Bring friends, family, and your fan club—they’ll laugh at you, with you, and near you as you go for the glory (or infamy). The audience votes, and the champions take home the WORST. TROPHIES. EVER.

Now in its 13th year, this Barre-born tradition promises to be the loudest, silliest, most oddly joyful night of the season. As the organizers put it: “We guarantee this is the worst thing you will ever see on stage.”
