Hailing from Dunstable, Massachusetts, and now living in Derry, New Hampshire, Evan’s journey began with the first chairlift lap of the 2024/25 season at Sunday River, thanks to an early opening on Halloween. From there, he was unstoppable, shredding slopes from Maine to Colorado and everywhere in between.
His season wasn’t just about racking up days; it was a testament to his deep connection to the sport, the mountains, and the community that fuels his passion.Evan’s adventure took him to iconic spots like Tuckerman Ravine, where he capped his season with a celebratory descent on July 4th, proclaiming, “That’s a wrap on my skiing in the east!” In a Facebook reel, he thanked his followers for sticking with his “ridiculous videos all winter long,” promising to be back on snow by November.
Occasionally Off the Reservation
But Tuckerman wasn’t his only haunt. He skied at resorts like Sugarbush, where a spontaneous off-piste adventure turned into a two-hour bushwhack through Slide Brook. “Lessons learned: Even on a resort, you can end up in the middle of nowhere,” Evan reflected, keeping spirits high despite the misadventure.
His travels also took him west, including a stop at Colorado’s St. Mary’s Glacier on June 18 for day 129. Rushing to catch a flight, he still managed to snag 11 seconds of footage, courtesy of a kind stranger.
By June 21, Evan was still skiing, calling it “Ludacris” that he was still chasing snow in late spring.
A Personal Best
His dedication paid off, surpassing his previous record of 115 ski days on May 18 and ultimately hitting 131—a personal best he hadn’t dared dream of when the season began.
And Then There is Bear - His Faithful Husky
Evan’s love for skiing extends beyond the slopes to his furry companion, Bear, a 10-year-old husky who joins him on select adventures. On January 18, Evan celebrated Bear’s birthday with a ski down the Cog Railway, marveling at his dog’s resilience after a leg injury earlier in the season at Stowe. “Seeing him run like this makes me so happy,” Evan shared, already looking forward to their next snowy escapade.
Never Ending Spring Skiing
From Memorial Day at Tuckerman to early summer runs out west, Evan’s season was a masterclass in passion and perseverance. Whether he was tying his all-time record on day 115 or pushing through to 131, Evan’s stoke for skiing never wavered. His infectious enthusiasm and knack for storytelling—whether through reels or candid posts about hitchhiking back to his car—have made him a beloved figure in the ski community.
As an ambassador for the ski industry, Evan embodies the spirit of adventure and the joy of chasing powder, no matter the season. His 131-day odyssey is more than a personal triumph; it’s an invitation to all of us to find what sets our souls on fire and pursue it relentlessly. So here’s to Evan Schwieger, the guy who skied from Halloween to the Fourth of July, proving that with enough passion, the season never has to end.
