You’d think a management plan would encompass the entire region, all the forests of northeastern united states, at least as far as it can be distinguished from, for example, the Ohio river basin, the piedmont and coastal regions, Deep South and so forth, similar the way bird populations are identified. In fact, at least to my mind, bird populations are of primary concern in forest management.

I have also read that they are working on bio-engineering, to produce a tree that is resistant to the Diseases affecting them...
