Vermont State Offices Closed on December 29th Due to Weather Conditions
From the State of Vermont Department of Public Safety
“The Gap in it’s current state, may be the MOST SLICK we’ve ever witnessed. There is no driving. If you can stop, you will not be able to walk. There is no mercy. There is only ICE.” - Roxbury GapStat Facebook Page today.
Vermont State offices will be closed on Monday, December 29, 2025, due to icy road conditions. State employees have been instructed to telework for the day.
Essential state personnel, like those in Public Safety, Transportation Maintenance, Congregate Care Facilities, and others, are reporting for work to carry out their important functions. State employees with questions about their work status should contact their supervisor.
Several roads are extremely hazardous this morning, including areas of interstates and other state roads. Crews are out and making progress, but caution is advised, particularly on secondary and dirt roads.
Vermonters should also prepare for possible power outages due to ice and forecast winds in areas of the state.
