Hogan's Pub at Sugarbush Golf Course Destroyed in Four-Alarm Fire
WARREN, VT – A massive four-alarm fire on the night of Wednesday, September 24, 2025, has destroyed Hogan’s Pub and caused heavy damage to the clubhouse at the Sugarbush Resort Golf Club, according to a report from the Valley Reporter.
The fire was first reported by a neighbor around 10:30 p.m. Multiple fire departments, including crews from Warren, Waitsfield, Moretown, and Waterbury, responded to the scene and worked through the night to control the blaze. The Valley Reporter confirms that no injuries were reported.
John Bleh, the communications director for Sugarbush, described the scene to the Valley Reporter on Thursday morning. “It’s super sad,” Bleh said. “The Hogan’s Pub side is basically a shell now. The clubhouse was also damaged, but the structure is still standing.”
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation. Bleh informed the Valley Reporter that security camera footage indicated smoke began to appear around 10 p.m., though the specific origin remains unknown.
According to the article, the building that housed Hogan’s Pub was a historic structure, believed to be over 100 years old. It originally served as a farmhouse before being converted into the golf course’s clubhouse and pub. “It’s always a shame to lose a structure – especially one with historic character like this,” Bleh told the publication.
While staff were able to save golf carts and some maintenance equipment, the contents of the building were largely lost. The Valley Reporter notes that Sugarbush intends to continue golf operations for the season once logistics are arranged. Resort management is currently meeting to determine the future of its dining and event services and will be contacting clients with upcoming scheduled events.
The Valley Reporter stated it will follow up with the Warren Fire Department for more information.
