The legend of Robin Hood is a story where the common "man" fights against tyranny and injustice for the good of all.
On April 1 and 2, the Vermont Youth Dancers (VYD) tell the story in a full-length production. VYD's adaptation is an unexpected blend of hip-hop and lyrical choreography, with song choices that "tell" the story.
Dance is infused with drama as the cast brings characters to life through movement, acting, staging, costumes, set pieces, and lighting.
VYD's cast of 40 includes dozens of local dancers, ages 8 – 18, from Jericho, Underhill, Essex, and South Burlington.
In The Woods Somewhere, Robyn Hood's Gang of Thieves performs at Essex High School on April 1 at 1:30 and 6:30 p.m. and April 2 at 1:30 p.m.
