The Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department is asking all deer hunters to contribute to deer management by reporting their hunting effort and wildlife sightings during the regular November deer season (11/13 – 11/28).
The information helps biologists understand how hunting pressure and numbers of deer and other wildlife differ from one region to another. This helps estimate population sizes in each region of the state, which guides management decisions. If more hunters complete the survey, population estimates will be more reliable, and management will be more effective.
3 Ways to Complete the Survey
- Use the new Deer Hunting Log feature in the VT Outdoors app. The app allows you to easily report this information each day in just minutes. It also allows you to track your effort and sightings during the archery and muzzleloader seasons. VT Outdoors is available from the App Store or Google Play.
- Use our online form to complete the survey. Anyone with a Conservation ID can complete the online survey. The online survey will accept data entries for the Regular November Season (11/13 - 11/28) until December 19.
- If you received a survey card in the mail, fill it out and send it back to us or complete the survey electronically using one of the options above. Surveys were mailed to 10,000 licensed hunters.
