The owners and managers of Oktoberfest Vermont have decided to cancel the 2021 event to be held in September.

Here is their official statement:

We are sad to announce the cancellation of Oktoberfest Vermont for 2021.  You will be receiving a full refund for your purchase.

We had sky-high hopes for Oktoberfest Vermont 2021 after the bust that was the year of 2020. Just a few months ago all the pieces for an awesome Oktoberfest Vermont 2021 were seemingly in place. Oktoberfest Vermont annually has over 80 vendors in attendance,  40+ breweries, 10+ food trucks, and 15-20 carnival game operators.

We employ over 35 people, and rely on over 75 volunteer workers.  We have major partnerships with local companies for tents, sound/stage equipment, security, and restrooms. But over the past weeks even our best-laid plans began to get derailed.

As you know, the world, the country, and this little corner of even highly-vaccinated Vermont have not fully recovered from Covid-19.  The world-wide supply chain issues, the national labor shortage, and the emergence of the Delta strain this summer began to disrupt the plans and promises we and our partners had made to produce the great event we have all come to enjoy and love.

Over the summer, we began to increasingly hear honest concern and doubt from our great team about whether the event could be delivered as envisioned.  We began to realize that we might not be able to deliver an event of which we can be proud.  We realized that it had become difficult for us to have confidence that we could provide the content, facilities, and staffing to ensure a safe and fun event for all.

We have great pride in Oktoberfest Vermont. We did not want to have an event which would disappoint or be unsafe.

So, we have made the difficult call to cancel Oktoberfest Vermont 2021.  We did not make this decision lightly but we are convinced it is the right decision.  We apologize to our ticket holders and we will make sure that you get back every penny you spent on your ticket.  You should receive a full refund shortly.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone's support of this event from the ticket holders to vendors and sponsors.  We also sincerely appreciate your understanding why we had to do this.

We hope to be back next year with all of this behind us.
